Progressive Architects is a Canadian incorporated firm offering Architectural services to clients across Ontario and Michigan. We offer a wide range architectural services from schematic design to construction contract administration. Our client base includes private sector businesses, developers, contractors, and corporations. Key Team Members

SAAD KHALAF; OAA, NCARB, PMP, President

Saad has more than 35 years’ experience in the field of architecture. This began with his work on a planning team on the project of Conservation and Renovation of the Historical Center of Baghdad.

For the past 25 years, Mr. Khalaf has centered his work in the Ontario and Michigan area. He has designed and managed numerous projects in the fields of High Rise Residential buildings, Retail architecture and Educational buildings.

Mr. Khalaf is licensed to practice architecture in Ontario Michigan With the capacity of providing services in all Provinces across Canada As well, he holds a membership with Project Management Institute.

Mr. Khalaf had proven the ability to lead architectural and consultant teams on large size and complex projects from start to close out using his wealthy knowledge of project management and diplomatic and direct business communication skills, collaborating effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff members of all backgrounds.

As a skilled Architect Mr. Khalaf has acquired in depth knowledge of many CAD software programs, including AutoCAD and Revit. As a Senior Project Manager, he mastered many leading project management and administrative softwares including Primavera P6, Microsoft project and all applications of Microsoft Office. In addition to his computer skills, he showed skillful talent in free hand sketches and Photoshop graphic illustrations.

KRISTEN KARKANAWI; B.Arch, Architectural Designer

Kristen graduated from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2010.

She has been working locally in the architectural field since graduating. Her work experience varies from small scale commercial buildings to large scale residential. Within these projects her duties have included but have not limited to the development of site plan approval drawings, schematic/concept design, detailing and preparation of construction packages. This experience has also aided her in her relationship with different engineering practices for coordination throughout the design and development process.

Kristen’s technical background includes an extensive knowledge in several Autodesk platforms, including AutoCAD and Revit.

KEITH SOKOL; Senior Technologist

Keith graduated with a diploma in 2004 for Architecture Technology from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario.

He has been working locally in different aspects of the architectural field since including fire protection, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems and life safety plans. His work experience has varied from Industrial, commercial and large scale residential buildings. Within these projects his duties have included but not been limited to the development of site plan approval drawings, schematic/concept design, detailing and preparation of full construction packages.

Keith’s technical knowledge is based in several Autodesk platforms, including AutoCAD and Revit.

MICHAEL HYATT; Senior Technologist

Michael graduated with a diploma in 2006 for Architecture Technology from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario.

He has been working in a variety of firms with different areas of expertise including hollow core production, structural design and as well as a design/build firm. His previous experience was primarily in office buildings, industrial and small commercial buildings. In recent years his experience has grown to include both small and large scale residential buildings Within these projects he has been responsible for creating permit drawings, working drawings, coordinating with various trades, and review of shop drawings for accuracy.

Michael’s technical knowledge is based in several Autodesk platforms, including AutoCAD and Revit.
